Built By Those Who Know

The 2022 E-Transit isn't just all-electric, it's also all-Transit. That means you get the same work-ready vehicle you've come to rely on with three roof heights, three body lengths, and chassis cab and cutaway models. And because electric vehicles can mean reduced operating costs and significantly lower scheduled maintenance, you can switch to the E-Transit with less hassle. We take the words Built Ford Tough® seriously. We put it through the same durability tests we put all of our commercial vehicles through. So you can count on it to show up ready to work.

Built to Support You

With Transit you get more than a van. You get a network of over 2,100 Ford EV-certified dealerships, including over 600 dedicated to commercial vehicles and access to over 16,000 charging stations. Plus, like all Transit models, you have access to our network of 13 upfitters located within 30 miles of our Kansas City Assembly Plant. All of which allows you to make the switch to electrification confident that we have your back.

Built for the Bottom Line

Going electric is just good business. With connected technologies and the ability to help you achieve sustainability goals, E-Transit is designed to handle what's happening now and what's coming next. And with a whisper-quiet powertrain and zero emissions, the E-Transit can work in environments where traditional work vehicles can't. All at a targeted starting MSRP under $45,000.*

*MSRP for base Cutaway model. Excludes destination/delivery fee plus government fees and taxes, any finance charges, any dealer processing charge, any electronic filing charge, and any emission testing charge. Optional equipment not included.

Tailored Range

By leveraging more than 30 million miles of Ford Telematics™ data, we learned that the average daily range for commercial vans in the U.S. is 74 miles. Of course we also understand that there are days when those distances are higher, and recognize the need to adjust for factors such as cold weather. We consequently designed E-Transit with a targeted 126 miles of range (Cargo Van low-roof models). * Our goal is to be a one-stop shop for our commercial vehicle customers. And we'll have more announcements in the future on additional derivatives that offer more capability and range.

*Based on full charge. USA targeted range reflecting current capability based on analytical projection consistent with US EPA MCT drive cycle methodology (www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/pdfs/EPA test procedure for EVs-PHEVs-11-14-2017.pdf). Actual range varies with conditions such as external elements, driving behaviors, vehicle maintenance and lithium-ion battery age.

Pro Power Onboard

Available Pro Power Onboard provides 2.4kW of power. Enough to charge the tools you need to get the job done, from power tools like saws, drills, jackhammers and more to tablets, laptops and label scanners, which eliminates the need for an inverter. And since it works while the van is being driven, it's easy to keep things powered between jobs.

Built Without Compromise

E-Transit does everything except compromise. For instance, by integrating the battery underneath the body of the vehicle, you get the benefits of electricity without compromising cargo space. And with a maximum targeted payload of 3,800 lbs. on cargo van low roof, regular wheelbase, 4,250 lbs. on chassis cab and 4,290 lbs. on cutaway,* you can feel comfortable using every inch of that space to bring what you need to get the job done.

*See label on doorjamb for carrying capacity of a specific vehicle.

Functional and Accommodating

The E-Transit was designed to offer a highly functional interior. By redesigning the center console with a new rotary shifter and replacing the manual parking brake lever with an e-brake on the instrument panel, we improved interior walk-through. And the standard overhead rear shelf delete can give you even more head room when moving around the vehicle. The result is greater functionality and greater productivity.

The Power of Choice

One size never fits all. That's why we offer so many choices in electric work vans. Just like the gas-powered Transit Cargo Van, the E-Transit comes in three lengths and three roof heights. It's also available in chassis cab and cutaway models. Which means it adds eight all-electric configurations to the already best-in-class* total offered by the current gas model.

*Class is Full-Size Vans.

THREE CARGO VAN ROOF HEIGHTS

The E-Transit Cargo Van is available in three roof heights: low, medium and high. The high-roof variant allows a person as tall as 6 ft. 9 in. to stand up straight inside the van, making it easier to move around and access equipment. The medium-roof variant can accommodate a person as tall as 6 ft., while low roof heights enable easier maneuverability and can fit in 7-ft. garages.

THREE CARGO VAN BODY LENGTHS

Whether you need a vehicle that's easy to maneuver around the traffic and tight spaces of a city or one that offers more cargo space, the E-Transit Cargo Van has got you covered. Available in regular, long and extended lengths, there's sure to be one that's a perfect fit for any job.

CHASSIS CAB AND CUTAWAY MODELS

With chassis cab and cutaway models, America's first electric work van from a full-line automaker offers businesses the right van for any job. Plus it's easy to upfit and offers a wide array of available packages designed to make adapting to your needs simple and convenient.

Actual vehicle range varies with conditions such as external elements, driving behaviors, vehicle maintenance, lithium-ion battery age and state of health.

Powerful for your Business

We built the E-Transit to help you build your business. So, whether it's helping to reduce operating costs or helping you take on jobs other people can't, you can feel confident the E-Transit has your back.

Zero Gas. Less Scheduled Maintenance.

With zero trips to the pump and less scheduled maintenance* than traditional gas-powered engines, electrifying is a smart move. For instance, electric vehicles don't use oil, making oil changes a thing of the past. In addition, scheduled maintenance costs on the E-Transit are estimated to be 40% less than the average scheduled maintenance cost compared to a gas-powered 2020 Transit over 8 years/100,000 miles (whichever comes first). * And you may qualify for a federal tax credit as well as other state and local incentives. **

*Scheduled maintenance costs based on recommended service schedule as published in the owner's manual. Analysis reflects Ford Motor Company's standard method for calculating scheduled maintenance cost, and reflects data available in 2019 and 2020.

**See https://afdc.energy.gov/laws/409. This information should not be construed as a promise of potential tax savings or reduced tax liability. Consult your tax advisor for the amount of credit you may be eligible for.

Less Noise

Work almost anywhere, anytime, day or night. Because the all-electric Transit offers a whisper-quiet powertrain that allows for operations in areas with noise restrictions, helping to reduce noise levels in cities and neighborhoods.

Zero Emissions

Zero emissions means the E-Transit can operate where internal combustion engines can't, including indoors and environments with limited ventilation. Which means it can take your business where it could never go before while helping you attain your sustainability goals.

Putting Technology To Work

We've packed the E-Transit with smart technologies that can be accessed through a convenient standard 12-inch touchscreen. So, whether you're looking to keep up with the latest technologies, get easy-to-access vehicle information or find ways to maximize productivity, we've got solutions to help you stay connected on the go and on the job.

E-Transit FAQs

Why is E-Transit built with RWD? E-Transit has been engineered with a heavy-duty independent rear-wheel drive suspension system specifically created to help improve traction and help provide a smoother ride when payload is at its max.

What is E-Transit motor capability? E-Transit offers a powerful rear-wheel-drive motor with targeted 266 horsepower (198kW) and 317 lb.-ft. of torque,* making it powerful and capable of taking on any job.

*Calculated via peak performance of the electric motor(s) at peak battery power. Your results may vary. Horsepower and torque are independent attributes and may not be achieved simultaneously.

Will the E-Transit receive over-the-air software updates? Yes. It will have over-the-air software updates for the SYNC® 4 system. Details will be shared at a later date.

Can any Ford Dealer service E-Transit? The E-Transit can be serviced at over 600 Ford EV-certified dedicated Commercial Vehicle Center dealers along with the 2,100 Ford EV-certified dealers who would be ready to provide parts and service as needed.

When will order banks open for E-Transit? Can a reservation be placed beforehand? We will confirm when customers can make reservations at a later date. Ford sales representatives will have information on how to keep customers up to date as we get closer to launch.

Is E-Transit eligible for the federal tax incentives of up to $7,500? E-Transit customers may qualify for up to $7,500 in federal tax credits. Depending on where you live and your personal tax situation, you may qualify for other tax incentives from your state or city for buying an electric vehicle. The federal tax credit is a potential future tax savings. E-Transit customers can learn more about federal incentive offerings by visiting https://www.afdc.energy.gov/laws/409 or by consulting a tax advisor.

Which size battery does the all-electric Transit have? The E-Transit has usable capacity of 67kWh from its 400V lithium-ion battery.

Can you add more battery capacity to meet strong demand? We will have more to announce about additional offerings for range and capability at a later date.

Ford Commercial Solutions FAQs

Can E-Transit customers access telematics data without subscribing to Ford Telematics™? Yes. The battery electric vehicle energy monitoring and vehicle management tools can be accessed as a stand-alone. Additionally, OEM-grade battery electric data will be available through Ford Data Services™ for integration with proprietary software or accessible through existing telematics service provider networks – eliminating the need for third-party plug-in devices (PIDs).

How does in-cab coaching work? Real-time in-vehicle driver coaching can help to improve driver performance using the SYNC® voice assistant. Should a driver exceed a speed limit or not wear their safety belt, for example, the SYNC voice assistant will provide a verbal caution.

What is the benefit of preconditioning the cabin by the fleet manager? Preconditioning of the vehicle cabin can be done by the driver, or remotely by the fleet manager, to help improve cabin comfort and preserve range by conditioning while the vehicle is still plugged into the charger using electricity from the grid, not the battery.

Charging FAQs

What charging device comes standard with E-Transit? How quickly can it charge E-Transit? The 120V/240V Ford Mobile Charger, standard with the vehicle, is estimated to add an average range of 10 miles per charging hour on cargo van low roof models when plugged into a 240V outlet. * The 120V outlet is estimated to add an average range of 1.7 miles per charging hour on cargo van low roof models.

Actual vehicle range varies with conditions such as external elements, driving behaviors, vehicle maintenance, lithium-ion battery age and state of health.

Will the all-electric Transit also be able to charge in public at non-Ford networked chargers? Access to North America's largest public charging network* eliminates the need to register with multiple charging networks or download multiple apps. E-Transit drivers can use the non-Ford networked chargers as well and will need to pay for charging through direct coordination with those providers.

*Based on original equipment manufacturers (OEM)/automotive manufacturers that sell all-electric vehicles and have publicly announced charging networks. Department of Energy data used. FordPass,™ compatible with select smartphone platforms, is available via a download. Message and data rates may apply.

Will Ford offer its Ford Connected Charge Station for the E-Transit for fleet purchase? Yes. For fleet operations requiring a faster charge at home for their employees, Ford will offer a 240V – 48A Ford Connected Charge Station. The available Ford Connected Charge Station is Wi-Fi-enabled and can fully power your vehicle overnight. Vehicle charge events can be tracked and summarized for employee reimbursement.

Why should employees charge at home? Charging overnight reduces vehicle and driver downtime and ensures the battery is fully charged to start the workday. Ford's fleet-wide energy monitoring and vehicle management tools can provide fleet managers with reporting to support reimbursement for employees who charge at home.

Can the batteries be recycled? The batteries are recyclable. Ford will suggest recycling options for out-of-warranty batteries.

What happens if I run out of charge on the road? Ford Roadside Assistance* has you covered in the U.S. for 8 years/100,000 miles (whichever comes first). You can choose where you would like to have your vehicle towed and recharged within 35 miles of your vehicle location: your home, a public charge station or a Ford EV-certified dealership. If beyond 35 miles, Ford will take you to the nearest available option.

*Roadside Assistance is included for certain owners and available to everyone for a per-service fee. Ford reserves the right to change program details without obligations.
